Memorial Day Weekend Funnies

Memorial Day Weekend was...funny, and fun - to say the least.
Cam graduated, so that was the big event.
But a lot of family was in, so that was a big deal as well.
We ate out, cooked out, bonfired out (3-times!), hung out, laughed out, and chilled out.

Some funnies that I wanted to make sure that I remembered were:

Being with my family, above all.

Our Walmart run for propane for the bonfire.
It turns out that a family trip to Walmart can be quiet the giggle.
10 minutes later you've seen your high school principal, looking for Dad around the store (who strayed when told not to), Cameron dodging people, and you're checking out with more than you came in for: marshmallows, water, deodorant, and the trusty 'ole Advil (because as Mom said: it would be a tragedy if someone got a headache this weekend!)

Icecream sandwiches.

Peggy laughs

Cameron driving the family, in style.

Food like you would not believe. Day after day after day.

Family talks around the fire, three nights in a row.
(Drying the wood during the day, of course)

The beautiful weather.

Silly sunburns.

Smores.
 Her first smore, EVER!

HOPpy Easter!

Peeps. And lots more where they came from...the sugar aisle.
Needless to say, I had way to much to eat this Easter weekend that mainly consisted of SUGAR.
Regardless, this weekend was beautiful (not to be confused with the weather...no, no, that certainly was rain - all the time. But certainly beautiful in its own right. I just really wanted to enjoy some sun, and a family walk or two.)
But, this weekend was beautiful.
My sister came home Friday night! WOO WOO!
(With her new Pixie hair cut!)
We went out to enjoy some family time and really catch up with one another.
Saturday it actually was really nice out - which is code for "outside relaxation" at the O'Rourke household.
On Easter, my Aunt and her darling little pup, Vera, came over and we indulged ourselves in way too much delicious food.
Nothing earth shattering happened, just a really (REALLY) nice, relaxing family weekend.
I don't know, but it doesn't really get any better than that for me.
Love always,
Mo

2011 From Columbus

Cory and I rang in the new year in Columbus, Ohio with my sister who lives in Short North.
We met up with Katie's friends and one of Cory's.
The last day of 2010 was pretty awesome.
Driving down to Columbus was beautiful, sunny and so warm for this time of year.
(Something like mid 50's, and later we saw 60 degrees in Columbus!)
And, personally, I had a really good time driving down. Cory and I made a new car CD to listen to and just had fun.

When the night began, we ate the dinner that Nik cooked us - pork and sauerkraut.

Katie and Nik.
Loving life.

After that we headed over to see other friends.
Crazy enough, we ALMOST missed the ball drop, and some 10(ish) of us went power walking through the streets of Columbus to find a TV to watch the ball drop on. We literally made it with about three minutes to spare.
But all was well, and, of course, our New Years Kiss.
After a night of running here and there, New Years crowns and top hats, taxi drivers that don't stop, crowded streets and a really good time. I called it a night.
Cory and our friend John Franks, however, set out on a mission to get some food.
After many miles were walked, pizza was finally found and the night finally ended.
Happy 2011.

Mo

O'Rourke Christmas.

So much good food, good tunes, movies, and fun gifts.
We ran out at 8:30 on Christmas Eve night to the ONLY store open in town - KMart, to buy Apples to Apples.
BEST GAME EVER.
And my luscious (inside joke) Mom won both rounds.
And as usual, my furry loves enjoyed the evening playing in the tissue paper and torn wrapping paper.
Love always,
Mo
