Motivation Monday

Lately, I am finding that it feels SO good to stand up for what you believe in -- even if that means you are standing all alone.
Be open minded, understanding, attentive and be cognizant of others opinions and beliefs - but don't compromise yourself if it is not what you believe.

Motivation Monday

"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.
Attitude, to me, is more important than facts.
It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances,
than failure, than success, than what other people think or say or do.
It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill.
It will make or break a company...
A church...A home.
The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day.
We cannot change our past, we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way.
We cannot change the inevitable.
The only thing we can do is play on the string we have, and that is our attitude.
I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.
And so it is with you, we are in charge of our attitudes."

Motivation Monday

In life we will:
Learn lessons.
There are no mistakes, only lessons.
Growth is a process of trial and error and experimentation.
Lessons are repeated until they are learned.
Learning lessons does not end.
If you're alive, that means you still have lessons to learn.

What you make of your life is up to you.
You have all of the tools and resources you need.
What you do with them is up to you.
The choice is yours.
Your answers lie within you.
The answers you're searching for lie within you.
You just have to look.

Motivation Monday

"Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up and knows that it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed.
Every morning, a lion wakes up and knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve.

It doesn't matter whether you're the lion or the gazelle - when the sun comes up, you better start running."

Motivation Monday

I'm not very realistic. Never really have been, and I am just now realizing that about myself.
But reality isn't for me.
It's not who I am.

You know, in all honesty, it's not really who you are, or where you've come from that holds you back.
It's who you think you're not.
Think the "impossible" because it's not really impossible at all if you set your mind to it.
It's all in your head.

If it's something it's important to you, you will find a way.
If it's not, you will find an excuse.
I know this because I've been realizing it. Learning it. Living it.

But no matter what happens to you, to the things around you, be positive.
Things turn out best for the people who make the most of the way things turn out.
Things happen, we all know that.
Things aren't going to go your way and things are going to feel like they'll never turn around.
But they will. Things are never as bad, confusing, frustrating, or evil as they may seem.
Be open minded. Be happy. Stay positive.
And your life, no matter what happens, will always be wonderful.

It's you, your life.
You don't need to look to someone else to tell you how good you are.

As for now, and always, my sails are up catching the wind.
And as for my destination - that's unknown and that's quite alright.

Motivation Monday

Lately, I've been learning so much about myself.
Have you ever had a moment hit you where you could feel yourself growing up?
I'm far from what I once was, but still not yet what I'm going to be.
But, in the same respect, I am happy where I am.

I've been learning a lot about myself, teaching myself how to be a better person day in and day out.
The moment when I felt myself grow up and little bit more was when I was sitting in bed watching Cory fiddle with something on the TV.
I can't even recall what he was do, or even what he was saying.
All I really remember of the moment was that I was so happy and at peace with the moment in time I was at.
I was laughing at what he was saying and I remember my mind starting to veer off into this daydreaming state.
I remember thinking how much of an amazing person he was and how unbelievably happy he made me.
I remember thinking to myself, "From here on out, don't worry about a thing. Everything is going to be OK."
I remember thinking how remarkable life is.

The next few days I remember looking around on my walk to work, and on a walk with Cory, and I was realizing how truly beautiful everything and everyone is. How cute, different, unique everything and everyone is. How breathtaking, remarkable, extraordinary everything and everyone is.
Not that I never realized that before, I guess. But when you stop a really realize it and let it sink into your mind and your thoughts, it's so incredible.
You then take one step up.
Everyone is someone and everything is something.

I've been learning you've got to be:
Be kind to yourself.
Kind to others.
Don't take your mind for granted.
Don't take your body for granted.
Stopped making excuses for the things you really want to do and see done.
Whatever you want to do, do it now.
Life will not wait.
You need to let your life speak.
To be is to do.

Mo

Motivation Monday

"In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life:
it goes on."
Robert Frost

No matter what happens, always remember that something good will come out of something bad.
Never be afraid to make mistakes.
Life will go on, no matter what is happening.
Or how bad things may seem, and it will get better.
Don't be afraid.
Be fearless.

Motivation Monday

I'm always trying to do new things, be new places, meet new people.
And leave a part of me wherever I've been.
I want this life to remember me.
I'm trying to chase this life like a fever.
Put my heart into everything I do.
We all should.
It's up to me to find beauty in even the gloomiest of days.
It's up to us.
Forever on top of the world.
I hope you're forever on top of the world.

Love always,
Mo

Motivation Monday

"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide you life is your own.
No apologies or excuses.
No one to lean on, rely on, or blame.
The gift is yours, and it is an amazing journey.
And you alone are responsible for the quality of it."
Bob Moawad

Amen!
I was thinking the other day about how much I am going to try my hardest to stop saying, "I wish..."
What in the world is the point in that?
I finally realized that I say it, and it's an awful way to think, to speak.
Why am I 'wishing' for anything?
(Aside from my birthday candles - I mean, you've got to do that!)
But really - who was I thinking was going to grant me all of my wishes?

I think I've been subconsciously running from something that wasn't really after me at all.
This is my world.
My life.
I better just start making things happen -
Because at the end of my life,
I want to say:
Been there, rocked that!

Motivation Monday

The other day I had a thought:
I need to take every chance, and drop every fear.
Yeah, some people out there are great.
But I, I can be greater.
And at the same time -
Stop competing with others and start solely focusing on competing with myself.
Stop with the bad. Stop with the negative.
Stop worrying about what others are doing, what others think.
They are who they are.
You are you - and only you - and you are awesome.
If you want it, go get it.
Stop wishing, envying, complaining.
Get after whatever 'it' is.

Love always,
Mo

Motivation Monday

Follow Your Dreams.
Turn your can'ts into CANS.
Turn your dreams into PLANS.

"So fail. Be bad at things. Be embarrassed. Be afraid. Be vulnerable.
Go out on a limb, or two or twelve.
You will fall and it will hurt.
But the harder you fall, the farther you will rise.
The louder you fail, the clearer your future becomes.
Failure is a gift, welcome it.
There are people who spend their whole lives wondering how they became the people they become,
How certain chances passed them by,
Why they didn't take the road less traveled.
Those people aren't you.
You have a front row seat to your own transformation and in transforming yourself, you might even transform the world.
It will be electric and I promise you it will be terrifying.
Embrace it.
Embrace the new person you're becoming.
This is your moment.
I promise you, it is now.
NOW.
Not two minutes from now, not tomorrow.
Now.
Own that.
Know that deep in your bones.
And go to sleep every night knowing that, wake up every morning remembering that.
And then...keep going."

Go get 'em.

Mo
